Kick off the new year with a bang as Coach Michael's new In Flight Running 5K/10K program launches on Tuesday January 20th. The 12 week program welcomes walkers and runners of all skill levels and get you trained up for a 5K or 10K goal race in mid April 2015. Whether you just want to get off the couch, run or walk your first race, return to the sport of running after a hiatus or improve your current 5K or 10K time this is the program for you.
Program includes 2 group workouts a week on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings, online training schedules accessible via a phone app, 10% discount at Fleet Feet sports, training dry fit T shirt, online video running video instruction series, coaches to help lead the way and all the team camaraderie you need to reach your finish line.

Great for the beginner or intermediate
weight trainer who wants a 3 1/2 hour
crash course on how to get started with
a safe and effective weight-training
program. These classes include 1 hour
of classroom instruction on the importance
of effective weight training, how to
design your own weight training program
and other training tips from certified
fitness trainer, Michael Merlino. Following
classroom instruction 2 1/2 hours are
spent on the weight room floor reviewing
proper form and technique of Michael's
recommended weight training exercises.
Towards the end of the workshop participants
are split up in teams of 2 to practice
each exercise and receive feedback from
Michael. Each participant also receives
a written workout plan along with an
exercise summary that reviews how to
perform each exercise. Classes are limited
to 8 students and held at the Downtown
YMCA on the second Saturday of each
month from 2:30-6:00 pm. See our current

must also pay a $10.00 YMCA guest fee
and may incur additional parking fees
