Dr. J.D. Hasenbank
Sports Chiropractor - Spine & Sports Therapy
The study of machinery
or the human body . . . which one would be the
life-long pursuit of the Texas A&M student contemplating
his future career? After much thought, Dr. John
D. (J. D.) Hasenbank chose the latter, switching
from
mechanical engineering to a biomedical sciences
major and embarking on his passion for treating
the most
complicated piece of machinery -- the human body.
Dr. Hasenbank graduated from Texas
A&M in 1996 and Texas Chiropractic College
with a Doctorate in Chiropractic in 2000. During
his studies, he completed a chiropractic residency
at the Moody Health Center and an orthopedic residency
at Baylor Sports Medicine Institute. He also performed
internships in sports medicine with the athletic
departments of the University of Texas at Austin,
as well as Houston's Episcopal High School and
Eisenhower High School.
Actively seeking new and advanced practices
in his field, Dr. Hasenbank has earned to date
more than 500 hours of continuing education, studying
under doctors from across the country and physicians
of professional athletic teams, including the St.
Louis Blues (NHL) and the Kansas City Chiefs (NFL).
Dr. Hasenbank's most significant postgraduate certifications
are in Applied Kinesiology and Sports Strength
and Conditioning.
Differing from most chiropractors,
Dr. Hasenbank studies a patient's entire musculoskeletal
system (bones and muscles) to determine sources
of pain and diagnoses for treatment. While a traditional
chiropractor uses joint manipulation or adjustments
alone, Dr. Hasenbank utilizes a variety of therapies
to provide the most effective treatment for muscles,
ligaments and joints, as well as to improve alignment
and mechanics of the body. His treatment methods
can improve anyone's health and quality of life;
however, his passion is to alleviate lower back
and neck pain and to speed recovery from athletic
injuries.
Dr. Hasenbank owns and operates JDH
& Associates - Spine & Sports Therapy, the
private practice he founded in 2000. He is married
to Linsey and has two daughters. He is an active member
of Christ the King Presbyterian Church and enjoys
biking, running and kayaking in Galveston Bay. He
can be reached in Houston at 713.629.9200 or email
him at jdh@spineandsportstherapy.com.
