Ann Gibson, CCP
Career Counseling, Performance Improvement,
Outplacement, & Human Resources
Ann Gibson, CCP, has an extensive background in
career counseling, performance improvement coaching,
outplacement, and human resources. Her career choice
resulted from switching her college major from psychology
to business administration. Luckily, the school she
was attending, Louisiana Tech University, had a business
degree with a personnel management option – and
thus her career in Human Resources was born! She
must be in the right profession, because her temperament
according to the Keirsey Temperament Sorter is “Career
Counselor”. Her husband and 14-year-old son,
also agree, because she interrogates and advises
them on a regular basis!
She has directed all aspects of human resources
in the oil industry, for University of Houston, and
for the YMCA of Greater Houston. During her twenty
years of experience, she has worked with many types
of individuals. She became particularly interested
in working with those people who were unhappy in
their jobs or who wanted to improve their performance,
but really didn’t know how.
Ann trains large and small groups on a variety of
topics ranging from leadership skills to conflict
resolution. Through her work at Career Visions, an
outplacement firm, she taught individuals how to
write a resume, how to interview, and how to seek
and land a great job.
“Dedicated” and “determined” are
two adjectives that describe Ann. She never gives
up on other people and she stays focused on her own
goals. Her biggest accomplishment was successfully
completing the 2000 Houston Marathon. She walked
the Marathon in 7 hours and 9 minutes! This really
proves that if you train properly and try hard, you
can accomplish just about anything.
