About Our Group Running Programs
"Take your running to new heights" this year with In Flight Running. Our group running programs are based out of Houston Texas and offer an annual 37 week marathon and half marathon training season.
The 20010-11 season will be held from Saturday May 29, 2010 through January 30, 2011 ending with the running of the 2011 Houston Marathon & Half Marathon.
The first 6 weeks of training through the first week of July help both beginners and more advanced runners create a solid running base. Hill training and speed work are also available for runners who need additional coaching. Sign ups are accepted until we reach our 350 member cap or as late as August 31st, whichever comes first. No additional late fees are charged for runners who sign up after our official May 29th start date. Those training for Fall Marathons like San Antonio start with
higher mileage levels because their races are held much sooner than our featured winter races like the Houston & Austin Marathon & Half Marathons.
During our training season we train for our flagship Texas races, the Houston Marathon & San Antonio Rock n Roll Marathon and Half Marathons, and other fall and winter races. Even if you don't have a long-distance race goal in mind we can help you learn how to run, train you to fine-tune your running skills and experience the many benefits of running with a group with great coaching.
Runners of all skill levels are welcome however we do recommend that you are physically able to jog/walk 3 miles before joining our program.
We are strictly a run coaching/training program and do not currently offer marathon and half marathon training for walkers.
2010 Kick Off Training Dates
Our marathon/half marathon program will be capped at 350 runners for 2010-11 season so sign up soon. Once we hit our cap we will not accept any more sign ups. Also check out our website for info & orientation meetings that will be held between April & July 2010
